Bobby Shore

Shore grew up in the Portland neighborhood and attended St. Cecilia’s School and Church. He is a founding member of the prior Portland Development Organization.

Shore’s career has included many years in government, including serving as Director of Jefferson County’s Department of Community Development. After working in government, Shore served as Operation Manager at House of Ruth, a local group formed by five nuns from the order of Sisters of Charity. House of Ruth provides housing and support services for families and individuals living with HIV/AIDS. Shore was an owner and operator of an antique and collectables importing business.

Shore has previously served on the Boards of Kentucky Housing Corporation, Jefferson County Housing Authority, and the Community Health Trust.

Shore is currently head of the facilities committee for Portland Museum’s Board of Trustees. After completing the Master Gardener Program, Shore has spent many hours tending to the museum’s Victorian-era garden.
