To create a safe and enjoyable experience for all visitors and staff, we have established the following guidelines following recommendations put forth by the CDC, the Kentucky Governor’s Office, and Louisville Metro:
Prior to reopening, the museum’s facility was professionally cleaned and sanitized
If you are sick, please stay home until you are better
Staff is self-monitoring their temperatures every 24hrs and will immediately report fevers to management
Staff and visitors will be required to wear face masks/coverings at all times — reusable masks will be available for a $3 donation per mask and limited to one mask per visitor
Visitors must enter through the front entrance (facing Portland Ave) — all other entrances will be inaccessible to control the flow of traffic
Visitors will be asked to use hand sanitizer upon arrival and to leave a phone number or email address in case it is needed for COVID-19 contact tracing purposes
Visitors are to practice social distancing at all times — the entrance lobby will have lines marked on the floor to accommodate this
Signage and arrows will be posted throughout the museum to coordinate the flow of traffic
Visitors should not touch surfaces unnecessarily — interactive elements in our exhibitions have been adapted or temporarily removed
Restrooms will have locks on the main door so that they are single-use — we will post signs on both sides of the door to remind visitors to lock the main door behind them
Water fountains will be turned off
Hand sanitizer will be available in key locations throughout the museum
Surfaces, such as door handles, will be sanitized on a fixed schedule or if there’s an influx of visitors
The number and flow of visitors will be monitored, and the number of visitors in a gallery at one time will be limited as needed
