Summer Programming With Squallis Puppeteers

We’re partnering with our neighbors at Squallis Puppeteers for another series of summer programming! This time we’re hosting some amazing performances from this beloved troupe’s repertoire in our Lighthouse Education Center and following them with their classic finger-puppet making workshops! BRAIN PARTY

Sunday, July 5th at 2PM (workshop at 2:30PM)
Recommended for ages 3-8

Emotional regulation starts with identifying feelings and learning how they affect you and those around you. Using puppetry, song, and storytelling the Brain Party introduces Kindergarten and 1st grade students to the workings of the brain and explores how to manage big feelings. This program engages students in playful, puppet led lessons on calming down and self-control.

Featuring Pinky Noggins, our fitness minded brain emcee, Flo, the little dog who is right on the edge, brain breaks, a toy suitcase show, with original music and audience interactions.

TRICKY FOX

Saturday, July 11th at 11AM (workshop at 11:30AM)
Recommended for ages 3-8

A tricky fox outsmarts multiple humans to get a good meal in this table-top sized hand puppet show. Based on the book “The Tale of the Tricky Fox” by Jim Aylesworth, the show connects the audience with literacy by bringing the book to life through a puppet performance.

MOUSE TALES

Saturday, July 18th at 11AM (workshop at 11:30AM)
Recommended for ages 3-10

Join us for a FUN show that featuring two cousins that happen to be mice. Watch Squeak and Chancey visit each other’s homes and challenge each other to keep an open mind all while steering clear of a dangerous cat! Based on the folktales City Mouse, Country Mouse, Stone Soup, and the Lion and the Mouse, this table-top puppet show weaves lessons with fables, puppetry and hijinks. The show lasts about 30 minutes, followed by a Q&A session

Sign-Up Form!

Thank you for your interest in this summer programming series! Due to limited seating we’re asking families interested in attending to sign up in advance. Admission to each show (plus workshop) costs $10 per household. Upon completing the form and selecting “submit” you will be redirected to PayPal for card payment.

In order to prevent duplicate reservations eating up space, each household is required to sign up separately. If the attending members of your household will vary depending on the show, please fill out this form multiple times selecting only one show at a time.
