Directions & Parking

We are located just a couple blocks off I-64. The museum’s grounds stretch from Portland Ave (front) to Lytle St (back), and there are entrances on both sides.

FROM I-64: Take the 22nd Street Exit. Turn right onto Portland Ave. We are located about two blocks west, on the left side of the street.

FROM MAIN ST: Take 21st St north until it becomes 22nd St. Continue to intersection with Portland Ave, then turn left. We are located about 2 blocks west, on the left side of the street.

PUBLIC TRANSIT: Click HERE for TARC’s website.

Free street parking is available (Portland Ave & Lytle St), and there is a large parking lot on the south side of Lytle St (across the street from the museum). Accessible parking is available on the museum grounds. Both lots can be reached from Portland Ave by driving through the museum’s shared-driveway (when the gates are open) or by taking a left at 24th St from Portland Ave and then a left at Lytle St.

BUS DROP-OFF: For easy drop-off, unload on Lytle St near the fence’s pedestrian gate — a brick sidewalk will lead visitors to the entrance — and park in the Lytle St lot.

The museum’s public spaces are very accessible, and there is an accessible parking lot on the grounds. A portion of the exhibitions are up a few steps, but there is a wheelchair ramp off of the accessible lot that leads to an accessible entrance (see parking section above). Please contact us if you have further questions.
