Board of Directors

Dr. Katy Hopkins is child and adolescent psychologist who serves as Executive Medical Director of Pediatric Behavioral Health at Norton Children’s Medical Group. In her role, she works to expand access to behavioral health services for children and families across the region, with a focus on collaboration, equity, and community partnerships.
Katy and her husband, Amos (a local professional musician and arts administrator for Lincoln Performing Arts School), are raising their 2 teenagers in Louisville, where they enjoy being actively engaged with their children’s schools (Portland’s Western Middle School for the Arts and the Youth Performing Arts School at DuPont Manual High School) as well as local arts organizations including the Louisville Leopards Percussionists, Looking for Lilith Theatre Company, the Louisville Folk School, and Redline Performing Arts. Katy and her husband also enjoy collecting and celebrating the work of Kentucky folk and outsider artists. She has long been involved in community service, from early volunteer work in Alaska, South Africa, and India to her current efforts on local nonprofit boards, including Happy Birthday Circle and the Portland Museum.
She earned her M.Ed. and Ph.D. in counseling psychology from the University of Louisville and her B.F.A. in theatre from New York University. Katy is passionate about supporting children’s growth, celebrating Louisville’s rich history, and helping to build stronger, more connected communities. She is especially excited to support the Portland Museum’s visionary plans for AHOY, a new children’s museum that reflects her passion for creating opportunities, no matter their zip code, for children to flourish and grow.
